The Story

90% Sangiovese, 10% Merlot

In 1969 Giovanni Colombini created this unusual red wine, after researching about ancient Tuscan ways of grape fermentation. It is a versatile wine, never excessive; a different approach to the Tuscan taste.

The color is brilliant and lively ruby red. Bouquet features a bright fruit nose presents red berries and wild strawberries, enriched by subtle floral notes. Supple on the palate, fresh-tasting and delightfully drinkable.

The Colombini family has owned land in Montalcino since 1352, and the Fattoria dei Barbi since the end of the 18th century. The property extends over 350 hectares of fields and vineyards in southern Tuscany, in Montalcino, Scansano and in Chianti. The estate has been producing Brunello since 1892 and was the first to export it to Europe, America and Asia. Since the 19th century, their blue label has been the world's best known Brunello.
