This lovely Sancerre from Domaine Reverdy is drawn from the estate's vines in Verdigny, Sury-en-Vaux and Bué.
Aromas of grapefruit oil, almond blossoms, white currants, and lemongrass move in and out of the foreground, sometimes alternating with fleeting suggestions of white peaches, Italian parsley, walnuts, and grated ginger as the nose evolves in the glass. On the palate, the Reverdy Sancerre is generous and also precise, with delicate white nectarines joining the apples and pink grapefruit, all seasoned with palpable saline minerality that persists through the long, elegant finish.
Depending on the village, there are mixtures and layers of "caillottes" (small limestone pebbles and rocks with compacted chalky marl) and "terres Blanches" (Kimmeridgian marl).
