The Story

60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot

Located in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation and dating back to 1365, Château Smith Haut Lafitte is one of the oldest châteaux in Bordeaux. This magnificent estate entered a new era in its history when it was bought by Daniel and Florence Cathiard in 1990. Château Smith Haut Laffite, driven by the passion and ambition of the Cathiards, has established itself as one of the finest estates in Graves, with wines renowned the world over for their elegance and style, both red and white.

The "Petit Haut Lafitte" is the estate's second wine, produced from vines selected by massal selection and using grafting stock from the estate's mother vines.

Aromas of red fruit (blackcurrant and cherry) mixed with notes of peppermint and hazelnut. The palate is full-bodied and fleshy, with a wonderful freshness and spicy structure.

The wine is aged for 14 months in barrels (20% new wood) made in the estate's own cooperage.
